ALTAR GUILD

The Altar Guild is a very caring and very blessed ministry. Its primary purpose is to prepare and maintain the Altar and Eucharistic vessels, as well as the Altar and Sanctuary, for all services including weddings, memorials, ordinations, funerals, etc.

A sample of the handiwork of the Altar Guild maybe gleaned from the 2006 Easter Sunday flower arrangements below. [Click on a picture to view a larger version and then use the "back button" to view the other pictures.]

Aren't the flower arrangements above BEAUTIFUL ?

Fruits and vegetable offerings arranged beautifully by the Altar Guild members for the 2006 Thanksgiving Eucharist (Nov. 19, 2006). Love and devotion to the Risen Lord, truly, can accomplish wondrous things.

Hereunder are some of the members of the Altar Guild

From left to right: Hazel Pierre, Catherine Palasi, Blanche Higgins [Altar Guild Coordinator], Jean Swierczewski, Bonnie Dale-Ryan, Jade Ibuaka, Evelyn Lui, the Rev. Dario Palasi and the two little girls are future Altar Guild members. Not in photo are: Dawn Osbourne, Joan Heuburger, Carl Clausen and Annette Gardocki.

More Altar Guild volunteers are needed. To those who want to join please see Dawn Osbourne before or after the Sunday Eucharist.

Carl Clausen, the silent Altar Guild worker. I chanced on Carl during the BStA work and fun day last May 6, 2006 silently fixing the altar for the next day's Eucharist. He was reluctant having his picture taken as his clothes were dirty and messed up from cleaning. I told him that is exactly the way I wanted to depict him - unmindful of getting dirty and messed up in the service of the risen Christ. He was gracious enough to pose for me. Carl is now with his Maker in the sweet bye and bye. LBS.
